Fabric dye for denim. Dye powder intended for dyeing and refreshing denim at 40–60 °C.
The contents of an 18g package are sufficient for dyeing approximately 500g of fabric.
Store the dye in a dry place. The product is not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
Preparation:
Soak pre-washed fabric in warm water with a handful of cooking salt for approximately 15 minutes. Dissolve the package contents in 1l of water and add 1 handful of salt, mix thoroughly.
Hand dyeing:
In an enamel bowl, soak the fabric to be dyed in warm water. It should be fully submerged and float freely during dyeing. Add the dissolved dye, mix and heat to approximately 40-60°C, stirring frequently. It can be brought to a boil. The higher the temperature, the greater the color intensity and the wash fastness of the dyed material. Allow the material to remain submerged until the water becomes cold. Rinse in cold water until it no longer bleeds color. It is recommended not to wring the fabric vigorously; blot it dry and allow it to air dry. Do not dry in direct sunlight.
Machine dyeing:
Set the washing machine to a 40-60°C wash cycle without pre-wash. If the washing temperature of the material to be dyed allows, you can set the washing machine up to 90°C; the color will then be more durable and intense. Pour the dissolved dye into the metal detergent dispenser. Place the fabric in the washing machine and start the wash. Do not use the spin cycle, rinse manually. Do not dry in direct sunlight.
Useful tips!
After hand dyeing: The dyed product may slightly lose its color intensity and fade after each wash in the washing machine. After dyeing, you can add a little vinegar to the last rinse to make the color more durable.
When dyeing in the washing machine: After washing in the washing machine, the color may not be permanent.
If you learn how to use fabric dyes, you can achieve specific and predictable results. When dyeing for the first time, or trying new colors, you can never predict what the result will be. The final result depends on various factors: the dye from a particular manufacturer, the composition of the material to be dyed, the ratio of dye to material, etc. It should be noted that sometimes the final result turns out even better than expected, but sometimes you have to account for failure.
