DEKA Wash&Go fabric dye for washing machine dyeing is the right choice to refresh or re-dye clothes and home textiles.
The dye is suitable for white or light-colored natural fiber fabrics such as cotton, linen, viscose, and high-quality silk. Wool is recommended to be dyed by hand.
Full tone is achieved with:
- 500g of fabric
- 250g of salt
- 1 dye package
- 1 reactor package
The dye is also suitable for batik technique.
Please note! Synthetic fibers do not absorb dye. Mixed fiber fabrics (containing synthetics, e.g., polyester + cotton) will dye in a lighter shade. The higher the synthetic content of the fabric, the weaker and more unevenly the fabric will dye.
Dyeing instructions:
- Weigh the fabric.
- Add the appropriate amount of salt to the washing machine drum along with the fabric, which must be completely wet.
- In a separate container, carefully dilute the dye concentrate and fixer in 2 liters of hot water.
- Set the main wash cycle to 60° without pre-wash. The higher the temperature, the stronger and more intense the dyeing!
- After the water supply ends, when the washing program starts, pour the dye solution into the detergent compartment. Then rinse with 1 liter of warm water.
- At the end of the program, run another wash cycle with a mild detergent. This will remove excess dye and simultaneously clean the washing machine.
Please note! The washing machine's rubber seals may get slightly stained.
Recommendations!
To ensure sufficient water during dyeing, it is recommended to dye no more than 1kg of fabric. Weigh fabrics before dyeing! You will achieve the best results at temperatures of 40°- 60°. The dyeing duration in the main wash cycle should be at least 40 minutes. Some washing machines have a shorter main wash cycle. In this case, repeat the main wash cycle before the first rinse. Do not select the economic cycle! Then run the remaining part of the washing program. This way, the dyed clothes are also rinsed sufficiently at the same time.
Given that new fabrics are produced with a coating, it must be removed before dyeing by washing with a detergent without fabric softener. The same applies to softened, rinsed textiles. Make sure that the fabrics prepared for dyeing have no stains. When dyeing with fabric dyes, stains are not overdyed.
When overdying colored fabrics, the principle of color mixing must be taken into account. For expressive results, it is recommended to dye only from light to dark. For example, a purple shade cannot be overdyed yellow.
Washing and drying:
- Dyed fabrics should only be washed with textiles of the same color.
- To avoid dark stripes that can form during drying, dyed clothes should be barely pinned to the clothesline. For better results, it is recommended to hang clothes on hangers. Do not dry in strong sunlight or near a heater.
The dyeing result should not be determined by wet fabric. Wet dyeing always looks darker.
The dyeing result depends on the dye concentration, dyeing duration, temperature, fabric type, and other factors.
Attention! Avoid contact with skin. Use rubber gloves. Direct skin contact with dye rarely causes allergic reactions. Do not inhale dye powder, keep out of reach of children.
